LeBron James’s attempt to Trademark ‘Taco Tuesday’ Denied

LeBron James’s effort to trademark the term ‘Taco Tuesday’ has been denied by the US Patent and Trademark Office, but a spokesman for the Los Angeles Lakers star has insisted the ruling was somewhat welcome.

The department denied James’ company, explaining that the phrase ‘Taco Tuesday’ is a ‘commonplace term.’

‘The applied-for mark is a commonplace term, message, or expression widely used by a variety of sources that merely conveys an ordinary, familiar, well-recognized concept or sentiment message,’ the USPTO wrote.

James had been celebrating the occasion on social media, frequently posting pictures from his family's 'Taco Tuesday' meals. He even made 'Taco Tuesday' T-shirts
