Peacock unveiled the first action-packed teaser for its John Wick prequel three-part series The Continental centered on the hitman hotel in New York City featured in the popular film franchise.
There’s only a shadowy glimpse of Colin Woodell as a much younger version of Winston Scott (Ian McShane), who eventually becomes the manager of the hotel.
The synopsis read: ‘Winston faces a past he thought he’d left behind and charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.’
However, the 50-second preview did not include any footage of Ayomide Adegun as the young concierge Charon, who was famously played by the late Lance Reddick in the films. Bloody white towels thrown in a hamper are business as usual at the hotel where assassins lay their heads.
Fans can expect at least one visit to debaucherous disco Studio 54 during its 1977-1980 hey-day as a woman could be seen riding a horse (a la Bianca Jagger) as Donna Summer’s 1976 disco hit I Feel Love bellowed in the background.
The teaser did not include any footage of two-time Oscar winner Mel Gibson, who plays the mysterious Cormac in the miniseries.
The Continental also features Mark Musashi, Marina Mazepa, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Mishel Prada, Nhung Kate, Ben Robson, Peter Greene, Jeremy Bobb, Katie McGrath, Ray McKinnon, and Adam Shapiro.
