Florida artist Gil Watson turned a cedar tree that was extending over a canal in Homosassa Florida into a mermaid sculpture. Gil Watson was approached by the Ryman’s and asked if he could transform their cedar tree into a mermaid. Without hesitation Gil Watson said he could absolutely do that! With chainsaw in had Mr. Watson began carving out the mermaid sitting on a buoy.
