Judy revealed that her show is ending in mid-2021 but that she’s working on a new one that will start a year later. “I’ve had a 25-year-long marriage with CBS Television Distribution, and it’s been successful. Next year will be our 25th season, silver anniversary, and CBS sort of felt, I think, they wanted to optimally utilise the repeats of my program because now they have 25 years of reruns. So what they decided to do was to sell a couple of years’ worth of reruns. But I’m not tired, so Judy Justice will be coming out a year later.”
Judge Judy started in 1996 in the United States where it’s the number one first-run program in daytime syndication. It won Daytime Emmy Awards for best legal or courtroom show in 2013, 2016 and 2017. Judy sold her show’s library to CBS in 2017 which also saw the show renewed until its 25th season which will now be the last.
