“IT: Chapter Two” Tops Box Office

It: Chapter Two scared up an estimated $91 million at the North American box office in its first weekend on release. The chiller, starring Bill Skarsgard as the demonic clown Pennywise, also did well elsewhere, adding $94 million for a total of $185 million.

Based on Stephen King’s novel, It: Chapter Two brings the Losers Club back to Derry 27 years after the first movie to take on the scary clown.

Gerard Butler’s thriller Angel Has Fallen came a very a distant second with $6 million in its third week on release, notching up a total of $53.4 million .Good Boys placed third, adding $5.4 million to its $66.8 million total. After four weeks in theaters, producer Seth Rogen’s R-rated comedy has also nabbed $15.6 million elsewhere for a worldwide haul of $82.4 million.
