Ever since Martha Stewart teamed up with Snoop Dogg and became America’s Cool Weed Grandma, people have wondered: When will the cooking show host take the next logical step and create a line of gourmet cannabis edibles?
Stewart is joining the Canadian marijuana company Canopy Growth as an adviser to help them develop cannabis products for people and their pets, according to a news release. But even if you live in an area where cannabis is legal, you won’t be getting high on Martha-branded pot brownies anytime soon: The company will start with pet products. Fido won’t be getting stoned, either: The products will contain CBD, a non-psychoactive compound that some say reduces anxiety and promotes relaxation and pain relief, through there has been limited research so far. The compound comes from hemp, but it does not contain tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, the marijuana compound that makes people feel high.
Martha claims she doesn’t consume cannabis.
