Five teen girls died in an Escape Room blaze in Poland. Authorities are probing whether faulty electrical wiring and security blunders were to blame for the deadly blaze. Interior Minister Joachim Brudzinski said the girls were all 15 years old.
A police spokeswoman Monika Kosiec said Friday the victims were celebrating one of their birthdays. “The tragedy occurred primarily due to the lack of an effective evacuation route,” said Leszek Suski, head of the state firefighting service.
The probable cause of death was carbon monoxide asphyxiation. A 25-year-old man has been hospitalised with burns and could not be immediately questioned by investigators who are probing the cause of the fire, she said.
