In the coming weeks, 71-year-old navigator Jean-Jacques Savin will attempt to cross the Atlantic in a barrel, using only the ocean’s currents to carry him across. Inside, Savin has six square metres of living space. Currents alone will guide the barrel from the Canaries to somewhere between Barbados and Guadeloupe.
