Known for their amazing heavy-metal music, huge fan base and their many business ventures, Metallica has decided to embark on a more foodie-friendly venture by releasing their own whiskey – “Blackened American Whiskey”. Not only is the whiskey named after their 1988 hit, but the song “Blackened” was used to shape the flavor of the whiskey.
Collaborating with Master Distiller Dave Pickell, the band managed to create a whisky blend that will be available in selected stores across America and can also be found online. According to a statement released by the band, the blends of bourbons, ryes and whiskeys from across North America were carefully selected by Dave and were housed in black brandy barrels with low hertz sound waves engulfing them.
The sound waves are said to be so powerful “that it actually enhances the molecular interaction and ultimately the finish of the whiskey.” Metallica said in a statement that this “never-been-done-before Metallica endeavor” was another way for them to connect with their fans.
