Scientists at the Institute for Stem Cell Biology in India claim the milk contains “all essential amino acids” the human body needs. The bizarre fad superfood is made from crystals secreted by mother roaches to feed their young. A spokesman said: “The crystals are like a complete food – they have proteins, fats and sugars. “If you look into the protein sequences, they have all the essential amino acids.”
Hollywood actress and wannabe lifestyle guru Gwyneth Paltrow has also added the roaches to her animal milk guide GOOP. It reads: “As might be expected, the process of ‘milking’ a cockroach is precise and laborious.” Although it is said to be similar to cow’s milk, it requires 1,000 insects to produce just 100 grams.
