Frightened Rabbit singer Scott Hutchison has been found dead at Port Edgar in South Queensferry, Scotland. Police have confirmed a dead body, found at about 8.30pm on Thursday, May 11, is that of the missing musician. Scott’s Frightened Rabbit bandmates, among them his brother Grant, posted a heartfelt statement on Twitter. Addressing fans, they said: “There are no words to describe the overwhelming sadness and pain that comes with the death of our beloved Scott, but to know he is no longer suffering brings us some comfort… “He will be missed by all of us and his absence will always be felt, but he leaves a legacy of hope, kindness and colour that will be forever be remembered and shared.”
Scott, 36, was reported missing on Wednesday, May 9, by family members, who expressed concern over his welfare. The singer was last seen exiting the Dakota Hotel in South Queensferry, West Edinburgh, at 1am on Wednesday. Police Scotland issued a public statement later that day, urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of the musician to come forward. Scott’s Frightened Rabbit bandmates — his brother Grant, alongside friends Billy Kennedy, Andy Monaghan and Simon Liddell — issued a public appeal via their official Twitter profile.
On Tuesday, May 8, at 10.50pm, Scott wrote on Twitter: “Be so good to everyone you love. It’s not a given. “I’m so annoyed that it’s not. I didn’t live by that standard and it kills me. Please, hug your loved ones.” In a second message, posted at 11.09pm, he wrote: “I’m away now. Thanks.”
