A 19-year-old restaurant server says he’s still reeling after a customer left him a $1,000 tip. “My jaw dropped. I couldn’t do anything. I was in shock,” said Brendan Motill, who had just recently started working at the Smokey Barque BBQ in south suburban Frankfort, Ill. On a slow day he was chatting with a customer about life. After the man left, Motill realized he’d left the huge tip along with a note. “The note said, like, ‘I don’t know what your hopes and dreams are but I hope this helps you accomplish it.’ I tried to go out there and he was gone,” Motill said. Motill plans to use the money for college. He said he wants to pursue a career in accounting.
