Prince William to Become Air Ambulance Pilot

Kensington Palace has today confirmed that the Duke of Cambridge will train as an air ambulance pilot before taking up a full time role next year. William will begin a civilian pilot course next month, followed by dedicated 999-response training. If he passes both, he will join the East Anglian Air Ambulance which is based at Cambridge Airport in spring 2015. This is the first time a member of the royal family has signed a civilian contract, proving once again that Wills is basically just like us. Sort of. It has also been confirmed that he’ll donate his post-tax salary – approx. £30,155 a year – in full to an as yet undisclosed charity.
