3 Men Arrested Trying to Sell Heroin on Craigslist

Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested three men Thursday for attempting to sell heroin using a Craiglist ad. Deputies said they were tipped off Wednesday about a Craigslist ad, which showed that the man was trying to sell heroin using the ad. The ad title said, “take a ride on H train d@pe – $100”. The description said, “Take a ride on H train, dog food, d@pe serious inquiries only!” According to deputies, “dog food” is a street name attached to heroin. Agents from the Jefferson Parish Narcotics Division arranged to meet with the Craigslist seller, so they could purchase three bags of “dog food” at a supermarket parking lot in Metairie.  Geral Bowman, 24 of New Orleans, got out of the passenger side of a GMC Sierra and walked toward the agents, according to JPSO. Bowman gave them three plastic bags containing a tan, powdery substance and then fled on foot. Agents ran after him and caught him in the 3700 block of Powers Blvd. Deputies then arrested Bowman.

Deputies said the driver of the GMC Sierra, Michael Zeringue, 32 of Slidell, and his passenger, Avion Nelson, 24 of New Orleans, drove away with agents following them. Deputies said they stopped the GMC at Power Blvd. and West Esplanade Ave., and discovered more ot the tan, powdery substance in plain sight inside the car.  JPSO executed a search warrant on the GMC and deputies also discovered a semi-automatic handgun with a unrecognizable serial number. Deputies then arrested Zeringue and Nelson.
