A Tour de France spectator has been airlifted to hospital after falling through a roof while watching the event. It is believed the woman, who is said to be in her forties, was watching the event from the roof of a building in Skipton, North Yorkshire. Scores of spectators have been pictured to rooftops of buildings lining the route, with some teetering on dangerously on the edge. She sustained serious head injuries and was treated at the scene by ambulance staff before being rushed to hospital by air ambulance. Its is believed the woman had climbed on the roof via a first floor window. Police later said the woman’s injuries are not believed to be serious and are described as “cuts and bruises”.
