This eye-popping performer is fast becoming a YouTube hit as he tries to claim the official world record. John Doyle can make his eyes bulge out of his head, and thinks that he can make it into the book of Guinness World Records. He has uploaded videos of him showcasing his unusual talent in time to music to YouTube, and they have been viewed thousands of times. John, from Liverpool, said: “Guinness World Records have quite strict criteria so it is tough to meet their standards.
“While in Japan, I believe I beat the world record for how far eyes can come out, which is currently 12 millimetres but due to the language barrier it was hard to get it recorded accurately.” The Internet marketer said he learned how to make his eyes pop two years ago. He said: “I was doing it for friends in the pub and just put it on YouTube one day. “Suddenly it had a hundred views, then the figure kept going up and up and I was getting dozens of emails every couple of hours. “It just took off. I was featured on TV in America and Ripley’s Believe it or Not contacted me. I never expected it would be as popular as this.” John has reassured viewers that the bizarre talent does not hurt, and is not damaging his eyes. He is hopeful that he can make a career out of his protruding eye balls. He added: “I have spoken to some people in London and we are looking to identify opportunities for the future, but there is nothing definite planned just yet.”
